OFFICIAL STATEMENT No. 085/2025
JUNAEB Food Handlers' Strike
Date: August 11, 2025
Dear Parents and Guardians:
Please be advised that, due to the national strike by food service workers, we will only be able to provide a cold breakfast tomorrow, Tuesday, August 12.
Please make arrangements as a family for your children’s lunch, since—contrary to the JUNAEB statement, which indicates that lunch breaks will be maintained and mentions the availability of hot or cold meals—this will not be possible at our school, as we will not have lunch breaks, as stated in that announcement. This information was provided by the supervisor of the contracting company, Ms. Claudia Mosqueda.
We ask that you take the necessary precautions to ensure your children have something to eat. We recommend a cold snack.
Actions to Take:
1. Students in grades 7 through 12:
- Students will be allowed to leave school for lunch, provided they have prior authorization from a parent or guardian via the school planner or an official email sent to: inspectoria@lbcsma.cl
2. Lunch Delivery:
- If you decide to bring your child a lunch in the morning, you can leave it at the front desk; please let them know so they can pick it up there.
3. Lunch hours in the cafeteria:
- Preschool (regular schedule) 12:00 p.m.
- 1st and 2nd grade: 12:00 p.m.
- 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade: 12:30 p.m.
- 6th, 7th, and 8th grades at 1:05 p.m.
- 9th–12th grade, 1:30 p.m.
Please note that the time when students can go out for lunch or to run errands remains the same, from 12:55 p.m. to 1:40 p.m.
We appreciate your understanding and cooperation under these circumstances.
We will keep you updated on any developments in this matter.
Sincerely, The Management Team.
